Mickey's arm & wand -epcot

I just read an article that along with other reno's going on in Epcot, the giant Mickey Mouse arm, glove and wand, stars and the huge 'Epcot' written across the sphere will all be removed between now and the 25th anniversary of that park on October 1st.

Now I know that it was only added for the millenium celebrations and that alterations to the landscape of the parks must inevitably be made, but I am really disappointed that I never got to see (in person) this icon that has dominated as the highest point of WDW since its installation. Apparently, that honour will be tied between Expedition Everest and Tower of Terror at 199' tall after the wand deconstruction.

Lets hope that they put something wizz bang somewhere else to make up for it.
Am I the only one here that didn't see it?

I saw the wand over 2 trips and it was ok but also unbalanced Spaceship Earth.

I wish they would remove the stupid hat in front of the Great Movie Ride.

By the way 4 weeks from today i am gone . . . .
