Now thems fighting words.... ones I didn't think I'd hear you utter Keith  you must be pretty steamed.
You know, I was quite happy to go to D on I this year and buy Mr Ray at the exhorbitant price of $44 and the seagull at $38. I knew they were very expensive prices for those articles, but just like when I go to the parks, I knew I had to pay a premium.

What steamed me then, was when they had tacked on that extra $6- per item!! I knew they were cheaper elsewhere but had ramped them up for Sydney hoping that no one would know the difference - well Disney, this is the 21st Century, and we do know what is happening in other parts of the country!!

I don't think I was the only one disappointed with the prices, there did not appear to be the same volume of toys being sold there as in previous years. If they dropped fluffy prices by $10- they could have shifted a much larger volume. Heck, Della and I aren't scraping for a buck, but for a lot of families with more than one kid - D on I is a major costly yearly event. And Disney were fleecing them - the very people they want to encourage to participate in their products.

Yep - we'll go to HSM next year, but don't expect us to buy the merchandise...I can probably get the CD much cheaper at K-Mart...

My daughter (11) has never wanted to go to DoI, so I have never been. She is already asking to go see HSM. So I guess I will be going
Interestingly my daughter (almost 13) is also saying the same thing. So now that I'm not that interested in seeing it, she's wanting to.... sheesh!
- but there will be no purchase of $50 fluffies!
is there anything they could make 'fluffy' in HSM? I'm envisaging diaries and teenie bopper stuff.
My youngest who got addicted to churros,
CHURROS.....(said in my best Homer Simpson voice)
No fair.... I have to go to work now thinking about churros ... that Vegemite and cheese sandwich is so not going to cut it for lunch :?
Ok... somebody start a thread about your favourite things to eat at Disney so that I can think about that all day and make a list..... :D
well Disney, this is the 21st Century, and we do know what is happening in other parts of the country!!
Yep, I had that thought too... do they just think that no one will find out that the pricing was different? and over several items, $6 is significant... if you buy two items, then thats a big chunk out of of another fluffy that you are just not going to get!

We were discussing this too - I'm guessing CDs (guaranteed!!), maybe Wildcats pennants, pom-poms as well maybe? I dunno - I'm fairly sure the fluffies will be sparse - maybe a Mickey and Minnie in their high school/cheer leader outfits.

hey already have HSM barbies, and my daughter would want pom poms way more than a fluffy. They merchandise can be different and geared towards older children who are more than happy to part with $100 of their parents money for a HSM mp3 player, special edition dvd or a microphone to go along with their sing a long version of the dvd!

I am off to start the favourite food in a theme park thread - I'll put it under Disneyland!

Today I got my offer for priority ticketing/seating for the new Disney on Ice.
MICKEY & MINNIE'S AMAZING JOURNEY.

Here is the blurb...

"Join Mickey and Minnie on a sightseeing tour of the imagination as they travel to five amazing destinations - All in one action packed ice show!
Experience excitement, humour, friendship and much more as your tour guides Mickey and Minnie, take you through picture postcard worlds packed with surprises. Be transported from your seat to Peter Pans enchanting Neverland, go on an African safari with the Lion King, immerse yourself under the sea with the Little Mermaid, dance an Hawaiian Luau with Lilo & Stitch, and travel to London with all the 101 Dalmatians. "

If the glossy flyer is anything to go by, it will be gorgeous.

I am so going...

Its on in Brisbane from June 25 to 29.

May as well continue this thread.

We went to Disney on Ice last night (Saturday) in Wollongong. Seats were good despite me such a tight ar.., ahem, wad. We were in the 2nd last row. But the view was great. The show itself was rather enjoyable and entertaining. Once again Disney props were imaginative and well used and quite extraordinary in parts. The way they re-enacted some of the classic shows was quite well done. There wasn't any dud parts to it, which for me is a great start. We actually snapped some very good photos, which I won't post due to the fact that others are yet to see it, which is also why that's as much as I'll say. But to finish, if you're seeing it, look forward to it. If you're not planning to, it may be worth changing your mind.

I have to ashamedly admit that I have let you all down on this subject. Not only do I not know the price of any merchandise, I don't even know what merchandise is available. We didn't go any where near it. Knowing that the price of anything would be comparable to a family's worth of Annual Passes to any park it wasn't worth the risk of exploring. And I'm lucky that the kids are at an age where it wasn't the first thing on their mind. Having an Ice Cream and what's for dinner was more important this time around!

I can't wait!!! We're going on the 17th. It's my husband's first Disney on Ice, but the baby's 3rd - and he's only 14 months old  We saw HSM earlier this year and while my niece and nephew loved it, I felt a bit out of my depth. The first DoI where I didn't know all the words to the songs! Looking forward to this one A LOT! :)

Yay - another Disney fan on here that has never seen High School Musical! I guess I'd better learn the songs before I get dragged to the stage show in January.
Not only do I not know the price of any merchandise, I don't even know what merchandise is available.
Does that mean you didn't even buy the program?? The programs are great!

Yeah - I saw the view count the other day- that's a crazy figure! It is one of the oldest threads on our website - right back to 2005, but there are others that old too, so I don't quite know why this is so popular. I can't imagine that it is just individual hits - I'm guessing that maybe the Google bots have something to do with this - but then again, maybe Disney on Ice is really really popular!?!
