I realised that while watching the borring Disney on Ice yesterday. they have changed Tinkerbell too much. the real tinkerbell in vain,rude and tried to kill Wendy

The original tink is a product of a co-dependency with a philanderer who only saw women as objects for his own amusement. Look at the responses of the mermaids who are just flotsam and jetsam on PPs tide of non-commitment.

I don't think the dining plans are good value, WDW or DL. I have paid for the DL plan once, and that was enough.

I don't think they are necessarily good value anymore either (when we went way back once they were EXCELLENT value), but we like paying for our meals up front so they still appeal.

Not having been to WDW the dining plans are a mystery to me.. I have read about everyone's adventures with them here and they seem like an awful lot of work... I guess if you want to try out lots of different restaurants then if they saved some money I'd look further into it, but I tend to be a 'grab something on the go' kind of travel eater so I'm not sure it'd be value for me. I do like the idea that its all paid for when you get there though...

I'm with Lisa on this - Della and I tend to eat on the run while in a Disney Park, and the fact that the planning has to be done in advance is not appealing to us. We don't know on any particular day whether we'll be hungry or not (we aren't big food people) so having to turn up at a restaurant because we booked it 180 days ago seems silly to us!

When it was just Craig and I we didn't worry too much about sit down meals, but when we take the boys, a character meal (or at least a sit down) a day will be on the cards. Ben already eats almost as much as his father and Josh is looking like he'll be the same.

confession #1: I have never ridden Splash Mountain and do not plan to do so without serious coercion. I am terrified of the whole 'drop into a watery death' idea.

Splash Mountain is one of my favourites, going down the big drop I once saw a squirrel near the camera, at the end of the ride I said to the american couple sitting in front did they see the squirrel. He said "I Saw Nothing Man"! I can just see Lisa too terrified to open her eyes.

Now that Keith has pointed this thread out to me.

1) First ride each year is It's A Small World" It's just tradition.

2) Dining plan, avoid it unless you are a huge eater. Love the ADR's with the TIW card, love the food at the sit down and character meals, we are not big eaters, seems so stress free having to not decide where to eat each day. At peak times it is near impossible to get a table anyway.

3) Never been on Space Mountain and do not intend to.

4) Went to Universal for one day on our first trip in 1994, left early as we did not like the place. Now it seems like Universal is the opposition and I would feel like a traitor. Each to their own!

Just a follow up to my earlier post here about "Ozzy Osbourne"...Well I thought the lights were Ozzys...

Anyhow I was embarrassed to find out wayyyyy after my trip that the Osbourne Lights were actually Jennings Osbourne's. An Arkansas father put up a spectacular display of lights at his daughter's request and each year until it grew so large, that after court action by neighbours, they were forced to stop doing it. Disney invited them to display the lights in the Streets of America section of MGM and that's where you will find them every year from Thanksgiving until about January 4th. Disney has a huge opening evening celebration each year to mark the start of the 'Osbourne Family Spectacular of Lights' - check it out on google - millions of light bulbs and 1000s of guests clammering to take photos in the packed streets!

Unfortunately I only remembered to post this here today as I just read online that Jennings Osbourne passed away yesterday from heart complications. So sad...

Yes I read that today too. The lights are simply stunning and this guy was a genius.

A sad day, he did a lot for everybody. Loved the Osborne lights, the best part is finding the cat, we learnt about the cat from the backstage tour.
