Here we go again!
There has been some minor changes with relation to restricted items so I'll try and summarise it all below.
Sydney - Hong Kong
No changes to the old policy - liquids and gels etc are still permitted on board.
Hong Kong - Paris
No changes to the old policy - liquids and gels etc are still permitted on board.
Paris - Orlando
From the AA website
"Travel From Paris Charles de Gaulle - In order to reduce delays, American Airlines encourages customers to take as little hand luggage as possible (no more than one piece) through the security checkpoints. Items must be in small, clear plastic bags, and may not contain Prohibited items."
I'm assuming this means that you can still have a piece of carry on, but the items in the carry on must be in plastic bags so that it doesn't take very long to examine them all. The "Prohibited Items" is the usual liquids, gels and aerosols.
Orlando - Los Angeles
Carry on luggage is allowed but no liquids, gels and aerosols.
Los Angeles - Sydney
Carry on baggage is allowed but no liquids, gels or aersols. All passengers will be patted down before boarding.
Just as a side note, my sister is traveling in the UK at the moment and she wasn't allowed carry on items. She checked everything and when she arrived in Newcastle UK after her flight from London - her luggage was missing - when it was delivered by courier the next day, it had been broken into and all her valuables stolen - so ladies, wear your jewellery...
