Today, Variety is reporting that Disney has a live action version of its Beauty and the Beast in production. You can read the full story here:

So Disney are really tapping into its traditional fan-base for new movie ideas, with movies based on its theme parks (Tomorrowland, It's a Small World, Jungle Cruise, Magic Kingdom, Haunted Mansion); and now a new range of live action films linked to its animated films (Maleificent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland 2).
So far, it seems like the public are enjoying these films so I guess it makes good business sense - and to be honest, I don't mind them either as long as the story is good.

With Cinderella about to hit the cinemas in March, a new bit of news out of the Disney Studios in Burbank today was the first casting announcement for the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, with Emma Watson being announced as playing Belle. Emma is great, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this movie comes together.

I think this will be a great movie... Emma Watson is inspired casting for Belle ....
