Frozen was the number one film in the US this weekend - in its 6th week of release! This is an amazing run given that it is up against a number of big movies including The Hobbit. It is the first movie to be in first place after six weeks since Avatar in 2010. It is also took the third-highest, sixth-weekend takings of all time, again behind Avatar and Titanic, with Frozen earning $20.7 million this weekend. Total worldwide gross is now $640 million - not bad for a Princess movie :)

Hey Beth - did you get to meet Anna and Elsa in the park or was the line too long?

The line was huge and their photo spot was inside a shop as you exit Snow White so I actually never saw them.

Oh thanks Beth, I'm sure we'll venture into a Disney store at some point so will look for it there.

Am hoping the Frozen meet n' greet is still going when we get there - Millie will be devo if its gone - she has NEVER gotten too excited about character interaction, but she really wants her photo with the Frozen girls.

Finally got around to seeing it, and all I can say is ... Wow!

Absolutely loved it. Everything about this movie I loved. The animation, the comedy, the characters, the music, the story. They have excelled with this one. And I even liked the fact that Anna had freckles.

I was blown away but this film, it really had a Disney Classic feel to it. Songs were great and story brilliant. It felt very 90's 2nd golden age.

After 9 weeks of wide release in the US, it is still the fourth highest grossing movie their this weekend. That may even get higher this coming weekend when Disney release a sing-a-long version to cinemas around the US, which will include the words to the songs and a bouncing-ball snowflake!

It has now out-grossed Finding Nemo in US domestic takings. It still has a long way to go before it beats the all-time world record for an animated film held by Toy Story 3 at over $1 billion - so far Frozen is around the $800 million mark with China and Japan yet to open.

Saw Frozen again tonight!
Well done! I've only seen it once but would love to see it at the cinema again before it disappears.

Frozen was number two at the US box office this weekend - in its tenth week of release! It earned the fourth highest 10th week in history. I thought that it would get a big boost from the sing-a-long version in the US this week, but that only accounted for 25% of its takings this weekend - so the normal version is still going very strong.

Total worldwide gross is now $864 million and it ranks 34th all time at the box office with Japan and China markets still to open (March). It may break the $1 billion mark before its world-wide cinema run has been completed, but that will be a big ask.

On top of the box office figures, Frozen also won five awards at the Annies this weekend (the animation version of the Oscars): Best Feature, Best Directors, Best Music, Best Voice Actor (Josh Gad for Olaf), and Best Production Design.

The Mickey Mouse short attached to Frozen "Get a Horse" won best animated short.

Frozen has now taken nearly $960 million at the world wide box office with Japan the last major market to open. If the Japanese love it, then it will break the $1 billion mark quite easily. Will it knock of Toy Story 3 as the most successful animated movie ever? We'll have to wait and see!

SPOILERS follow for those who haven't watched the Oscars yet.

Well deserved accolades for Frozen at the Oscars today.

For the first time in forever I was able to watch it live... got a little teary when Let it Go was sung... and then for it to win best song, I was ecstatic. would love to go to an Oscars one day. -/

Yep - fantastic news for Frozen and well deserved!

I didn't realise it was the first Oscar won by a Walt Disney Animation Studios feature movie since Tarzan won for music in 1999!

And to top it all off, Frozen surpassed the $1 billion mark today at the world box office. I also found it amazing that Frozen was the 8th highest grossing movie in the US this weekend (earning $3.6 million) despite it now being available on home video over there!
