Wow - so Disney are buying the Global Dream after all!
I saw rumours of this quite a few weeks ago when the media first started talking about the possibility of the Global Dream being scrapped as the buyer had gone bankrupt during Covid and no one else wanted a ship of this capacity.
The Global Dream world have become the world's largest cruise ship by capacity - having a 9,000 passenger capacity.
Now Disney have purchased the 70% completed vessel (at a massive discount I'm sure - it was a fire sale after all) - and have announced they'll fit it out for 6,000 passengers and use it on non-US itineraries (and from that, I'm guessing Asia).
More details below including a rendering of the new vessel.

I'm interested to see how this plays out - it is a big ship and I wonder if it'll retain a casino - given it is likely to be Asia-based and gambling is very much a cultural thing there. Or will Disney stick to their model of no casinos and first class service.
Time will tell but it is an interesting development!
