I'm surprised we haven't got a thread about the Aladdin Broadway show in here yet.

So who has tickets?  We are going this weekend - yay!!!

Glad you had a great time too.

I really liked how they adapted it for the stage - I actually found the story a little better than the movie by removing Abu and making Iago a human sidekick.  The new songs were also great.

I saw the show 2 weeks ago in Sydney and LOVED it!  I'm hoping it comes up to Brisbane one day and I will definitely go again.  The songs (new and old), dancing, costumes....all was fantastic. Reading an interview with Alan Menken on d23.com, apparently Aladdin's 3 friends and their streetband were in the very original story (of course you Disney fans are probably all aware already!!!).

I did not know that but I'm happy to add it to the mental trivia files in case I make it to a club meeting and it gets asked. :-)

I didn't know that either. I had heard the Proud of your Boy song before, I think it was featured on an old DVD or something and it was cut from the film when Aladdin's mother was deleted.

Ros and I saw it and loved it! It was a good old fashioned stage show, very entertaining.
2023 Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines - Disney Wish. Going to be awesome to be back!
