Joe Ranft Killed in Car Crash

Joe who? Well you might not know his name, but you'll know his work...

Joe Ranft was a Disney and Pixar story writer - among his story credits are:
Oliver and Company
The Rescuers Downunder
Beauty and the Beast
The Lion King
Toy Story
A Bug's Life
Fantasia 2000

In addition to this, he was also the voice of Heimlich in A Bug's Life and Jacques in Finding Nemo.

He was killed last week in a car accident outside Los Angeles. A great loss to the animated movie industry.

Now I know who he is, I remember the extras for the A Bug's life and how he did the voice temporarily while they tried to find a "real" actor but couldn't find anyone who could do it better.

A sad loss.
