Just to let you know my Dad passed away last night. He was 85 and had been deteriorating with dementia and a heart problem for some time. Glenda and I had been maintaining him in his home which has been hard work. We put him into hospital on Sunday so it was very quick in the end.

Beth, I'm deeply sorry to hear about your Dad.

Take comfort in all the memories you have of his life and share all those stories about him with your family.

I am very sorry to have started this thread 2 years ago but it is with a broken heart that I have to use it again with the unexpected loss of my eldest brother today. He had a heart attack on the golf course which was doing what he loved but a tragedy for his partner as they were getting married in a few weeks, his 4 adult children and 2 grand children. He was 62 and fortunately Glenda and I had lunch with him on Saturday. He had received the all clear from the cardiologist on Monday.

He loved to do magic tricks for his grand children and did so while wearing a magicians top hat with Mickey Mouse ears!

I'm sorry to hear that Beth - that is just tragic being so close to his wedding. I feel for you and all your family.
