Your Bucket List

Postby sandie » Tue Aug 12, 2008 5:11 pm

Lisa gave me an idea - we should share bucket lists. What is in your bucket that you must do before you die? Yes a nice cheery thought!!!!!!!

And I think that when you add to your list in the future - all bucket lists grow, you should copy your previous posts so we can see you full bucket.....

ok... first draft of the bucket list:

Mostly it involves traveling cos thats what I'd rather do than anything else - except perhaps write.

this one is a given... : visit every Disney park around the world many multiple times.

Disney cruise.
Snorkel in the Caribbean, Alaska and the Great Barrier Reef.
I refuse to visit Paris until I have someone significant to kiss me properly at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Stay in a castle in Europe somewhere.
Drive and explore Route 66 in the USA.
Explore Egypt, China and the whole of Europe.
walk as close as I can get to a live volcano.
Visit Galapagos and Easter Island.
Climb Machu Picchu.
See moose, Bears and Orca whales in the wild.
Swim with Whale sharks.
See the march of the red crabs on Christmas Island.
Drive around the UK.
Go on safari, staying in tents and stuff...
Explore Ancor Wat Lara Croft style.
Basically see and experience everywhere...

other stuff...

Finish writing my books - get them published and made into movies. :D
fit into size 10 jeans
have a house overlooking the sea with an old fashioned hills hoist out the back, and a HOME THEATRE TO DIE FOR.
learn Japanese
have a maid, personal trainer and chef on staff.
Have a swanky scrap room so I could find everything  and with enough room for several friends to scrap as well.
Attend at least one Olympics, Wimbledon, Grand Final, running of the bulls, Baseball, gridiron, and world sandcastle building events.
Cook roasts as good as my mums were.
Learn how to play the piano seeing as the family piano is now mine.
get another tattoo ( or maybe a couple more little ones)
Be an extra in a movie.
Ride an elephant in India like a maharajah. :D

Not much really.... and this is just the things I could think of quickly.

Its going to be an action packed next couple of decades staying Tiggerish rather than becoming Eeyorish ...

Wow, what a great list!

I actually don't know! I want to travel a lot, but at the moment I don't really have many long-term goals. I'll have to have a think about this and get back to you all.

Mines very similar to the recent trips we'd love to take thread with a little more thrown in.

Visit evry Disney park - given as well.
Stay in every premium Disney on site Hotel (owned and non owned, that covers TDL)
Disney Cruise - both Carribbean and Alaska

Start a successful business, then sell it!
Retire early - Live to Retire and Retire to live!
Buy a Prowler - drive it across the US and cover as much as I can - then bring it home!
Visit Canada, do the Rail trip across the rockies in the top of the carriage.
Visit Russia
Take Ros to visit the amazing architecture of Italy, Greece, France, Austria and Germany.
Vist most of the old Baltic nations and Eastern Block countries like Poland, Slovakia, Yugoslavia etc.
Ride the Indaian Pacific and the Ghan railways (preferably with the Prowler up back ready to drive when we get there)
Watch my kids become successful and independant - as soon as they can! :)

Spend a week or more just being in San Francisco and watch the city live. This sounds boring, but I would love to just sit around in cafes, bars and restaurants, and go shopping and being a local for a while. I love this place!

Stay in the Yosemite Lodge in the valley.
Play golf on Pebble Beach and Beth Page Black and a few other of the PGA courses in the states.
Ride in a V8SC.
Helicopter ride to Grand Canyon

Follow a complete Ashes Cricket tour and a complete Cricket Tour of the Carribbean

See Parramatta win another Grand Final
2023 Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines - Disney Wish. Going to be awesome to be back!

ok I have had more time to think so I am going to add to mine:

Seeing Alaska
Seeing the Valley of the Kings
Participating in a pioneer re-enactment - from the US East Coast to the West in a covered wagon with no mod cons.
Writing and publishing a book
Being in a production of Steel Magnolias
Planning and enjoying a 40th birthday that will be talked about for years.
Stay for a week in an English castle
Have long straight nmanageable hair
Stay at Yosemite Lodge
Visit the Little House on the Prairie
See the Anne of Green Gables musical on Prince Edward Island
Fit in size 12 jeans.
Raft down the Colorado River
Take my Dad on a holiday
Fly to LA, buy a car (I will let Peter pick it -but a Prowler may not have the luggage space I need) and spend 12 months driving around where ever we feel like going (Ok I will plan it but I will tell Peter that I am flying by the seat of my pants!)
Buy a house in Celebration and stay there for six months of the year.

I am sure I will think of more........

I've been doing a lot of thinking about this topic and once I started I actually found that I have done a lot of the things I had on my original "things to do before I turn 25" list.

Thinking about it has also made me investigate the possibility of doing a skydive, something that has always been on my list. The problem is that I am too heavy to do a tandem jump so will have to do the whole 2 day course and jump solo. I've found a local place that runs the courses and, hopefully, should be doing it in the next couple of months. Just don't tell my mother.

Greg, one of my best friends did the two day course and solo jump and she went back and did several more jumps afterwards too. She LOVED it and would have taken it up as a hobby except for the expense. I'm sure you won't regret it :) I've done the tandem and that was the most amazing feeling I've ever had....flying!!! Much better than a bungee jump   :o

Planes have engines, wings and seat belts for a very good reason. Don't get me worng, I absolutely love flying and being IN a plane, could do it every day. BUT! Good luck to you Greg and I admire people who can do that Mel, but I'm happy to stand on terra firma and watch in awe.

My sentiments exactly - I see no reason to throw myself out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft!!
