DisneyQuest to Close

Sad news for you fans of virtual reality games etc - DisneyQuest in WDW Downtown Disney is to close next year. It is to be replaced with a new "NBA Experience" - which is include new interactive experiences, a restaurant, and a shop.

When DisneyQuest opened in 1998, they expected to open up to 20 of them worldwide, however the only other one to open was Chicago, which closed after just a short time due to failed profit expectations. Construction had begun in Philadelphia, but it was never completed.

Its no great loss i think. It was terribly out of date and either needed a massive upgrade or shutting down. The NBA cafes a bit of a boring replacement though.

Yep - I think you've summed up my thoughts on this. DQ wasn't very exciting, but its replacement is ho-hum too (at least for anyone who is not from the US).
